-Diigo:
  • In my eyes Diigo is a better choice for bookmarking. Diigo helps you read more and carefully, it has handy digital highlighters and sticky notes. Builds your personal library with links, pages, pictures, and notes, etc. Diigo also organizes your information, once saved you can just look for it and its easy to find on any devices/mobile. It helps you share any information you would like to share with anyone/public. It also provides feedback with highlighted parts and you can separates things in groups if its not in the way you want it to be. It doesn't take you to any website or page that doesn't work.

Is Social Media Ruining Students?
Week of September 30
1. Grades:
  • It true some students do want to share their ideas and work/stuff with social media like twitter. Some students get distracted with Facebook because when someone messages them on Facebook they will get distracted but some students will put their homework before friends.

2. Extra Curricular:
  • It helps spread the word if you have an activity you'd like people to be a part of or join. Some people don't even do anything besides get home from school and eat, go to sleep or get on social media, without doing after school activities.

3. Emotions:
  • Some social media makes people get down because they realize they have no friends or have nobody to hang out with, and some other people become cocky because they get a lot of likes or what not.

4. Addiction:
  • Some people get addicted because they get addicted to the right thing. Students can get addicted to websites where they talk about news around the world or school. Others get to addicting to Facebook and don't want to do anything besides be on Facebook and that's all.

5. Self Esteem
  • A lot of people get so used to be on social media they start thinking they are a big part of it. They become to cocky and start thinking there better than others.

6. Study Habits
  • Some people use twitter to talk about there homework and others use it to talk about their day or life and how they hate so and so. People who use Facebook most likely talk about what they're doing and not about there homework.

3 BANNED BOOKS
9/26/13-9/27/13

1.The Color Purple, is a good book but it was banned because of all the sexual and violence that would go on in the book. It messed a lot with men's relationship with god, and race relation. Africans history and human sexuality. I never thought this book would be banned because i didn't actually see any reason for it why to be. After seeing the reasons why they blocked it i kind of got the impression of the real reason.

2. To Kill a Mocking Bird i never actually read the book, i just saw the movie but the movie was kind of confusing because it never actually explained the timeline and how it worked. The movie talked a lot about racial inequality and rape. I researched on Google and i found that in some school in Minnesota actually had the whole high school read that book.

3. Go Ask Alice was banned because it had inappropriate language and sexual violence written all over the book. The book is possibly written by a teenager explaining her life as she was growing up with her grandmother or mother and how she was sexual raped. I was watching the trailer on YouTube and in the beginning of the video it showed her laying in bed and writing in a dairy.

John Greene Video Comment:
9/3/13

The video talked about how we're very excited about school but then he was talking about how the teachers over react on the subjects. He was reminding us how everything started, and the history. The internet is a big use and how we use so much technology these years. He used as an example that meant that helped in space. He said school was good for us even if the teachers bug us about doing unnecessary work.
